Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team will take on the Harbor Creek Huskies in the first round of the 2024 PIAA Class 3A Girls Varsity Soccer Championship at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Harbor Creek Senior High School (Harborcreek, Pa.).
The Lady Planets took third place in the 2024 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Soccer Championships, after breaking the Plum Mustangs 1-0 in overtime in the Third-Place Consolation Game on Oct. 31. At the end of a scoreless game in the WPIAL Semifinals on Oct. 29, the Lady Planets were ultimately bested by the South Fayette Lions 4-2 in a penalty kick shootout.
The team defeated the West Allegheny Indians 2-0 in the WPIAL Quarterfinals on Oct. 24; and, grounded the Oakland Catholic Eagles 3-2 in the first round of the WPIAL Playoffs on Oct. 21. The Planets ended the 2024 regular season with an overall record of 15-2 and 8-2 in Section 1-3A play.
