Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team will take on the West York Bulldogs in the first round of the 2024-2025 PIAA Class 5A Boys Varsity Basketball Championship at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at West York Area High School (York, Pa.).

The Fightin’ Planets took fourth place in the 2024-2025 WPIAL Class 5A Boys Varsity Basketball Championship after an 81-72 loss to the Montour Spartans in the Third Place Consolation Game on Feb. 27. The team was defeated by the Peters Township Indians 58-52 in overtime in the WPIAL Semifinals on Feb. 25.
The Planets thwarted the Penn-Trafford Warriors 64-59 in the WPIAL Quarterfinals on Feb. 21; and, trounced the South Fayette Lions 50-46 in the first round of the playoffs on Feb. 18. The team ended the regular season with an overall record of 12-10 and 6-6 in Section 4-5A.
