Several Mars Area School District students joined in a special “Hometown Heroes” dinner to honor local first responders and others who are working to make a difference in our community.
Earlier this month, packs of trading cards, featuring members of Adams Area Fire District, Adams Township Police Department, Mars Borough Police Department, Middlesex Township Police Department, Quality EMS and Mars Area School District’s School Police Force as well as Pittsburgh Pirate David Bednar (Class of 2013) and San Francisco Giant Will Bednar (Class of 2019), were printed by Lifetouch and distributed to all students in Grades K-6. One pack in each grade level contained a Golden Ticket in the form of a trading card, featuring Dr. Mark Gross, Mars Area School District superintendent.
Golden Ticket holders, sixth-grader Liam Corcoran; fifth-grader Chloe Killian; third-grader Mckenzie Sroka; second-grader Julian Fratangelo; first-graders Lukas Fecich and Grant Kelly; and, kindergartners Andrew Albright and Landon Ferrari, were invited, along with the Hometown Hero of their choice, to attend a free dinner at Luciano’s Italian Brick Oven (Mars) on Dec. 14.
