Board Appoints Director of Student Services

Mars Area School Board has appointed Dr. Richard Glosser as Director of Student Services.

Glosser, who joined the District as a school psychologist in 2011, previously served as a school psychologist for Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV (Grove City, Pa.) and Mount Oliver Intermediate Unit II (Pittsburgh, Pa.).

He has also previously worked as a private psychological consultant for Catapult Learning (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Douglas A. Della Toffalo, Ph.D, & Assoc. (Johnstown, Pa.); as an independent contractor for Abraxas Pittsburgh School; a behavior specialist consultant at the Wesley Institute Inc. (Gibsonia, Pa.); a principle research associate at the University of Pittsburgh NIH Center of Excellence in Autism Research; a psychometrist at Allegheny General Hospital; and a crisis intervention specialist at Family Resources (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

Glosser holds a doctoral degree in educational and school psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania; a certificate of advanced graduate study and a master’s degree in school psychology from Duquesne University; and a master’s degree in special education and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a nationally and state-certified school psychologist as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Pupil Service Administrators (PAPSA), the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and the Advisory Board on Autism and Related Disorders (ABOARD).
